Ep 483: Agri Homeopathy research - with Dr Leonardo Faedo
Dr. Leonardo Faedo’s research brings together agricultural science, homeopathy, and the real-world experiences of farmers working to grow food more sustainably. In our conversation, he shares findings from his strawberry studies, in which different homeopathic preparations were linked to changes in plant development, leaf growth, and fruit production. We also discuss his ongoing research with wheat and other crops, along with the challenge of translating greenhouse results into field conditions. Leo explains why more long-term studies are needed and how combining scientific research with farmers’ practical knowledge could help us better understand homeopathy's role in agriculture.

About my Guests:
Dr. Leonardo Faedo is a Brazilian agronomist, sociologist, and research scientist specializing in agroecology, sustainable agriculture, and environmental practices. He holds a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies in Agroecology, Water and Resilience from Coventry University in the United Kingdom, and a PhD in Plant Sciences from the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC) in Brazil. He also holds a master’s degree in Plant Sciences from UDESC and an MBA in Agribusiness from the Federal University of Paraná. Since 2013, he has been involved in agricultural research, farmer training, education, extension services, and consulting across South America and Europe.
Faedo works at Coventry University’s Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience, where his research explores agroecological farming innovations, environmental practices, biodiversity, and the relationship between agriculture and society. His work includes investigating homeopathy and other agricultural preparations, particularly their potential applications in crop production and sustainable farming systems. His research has included studies on strawberry cultivation, and he contributes to broader efforts to understand how scientific research and farmers’ practical knowledge can inform more sustainable approaches to agriculture.
